Summary
Section titled “Summary”Boy’s Soccer:
⚠️ Note: All standard soccer rules will be applied and enforced by the referees unless otherwise stated by the MIST Sports Directors. The following rules are specific to MIST and must be followed in addition to standard gameplay regulations.
1. General Conduct
Section titled “1. General Conduct”- All MIST rules and regulations, including the official dress code, are in full effect throughout the tournament.
- Each team MUST have players match in some way through what they wear. Some options include:
- Jersey with numbers
- The same colored shirts.
- Colored pinnies jersey
- Players are expected to uphold the values and conduct standards of MIST at all times.
2. Player Check-In & Eligibility
Section titled “2. Player Check-In & Eligibility”- All players must check in at the sports desk before their first game using their MyMIST app QR code.
- Upon check-in, players will receive a wristband that must be worn at all times during gameplay.
- No player is allowed to participate without a wristband.
- During substitutions, incoming players must clearly display their wristband before coming onto the court
3. Referee Authority
Section titled “3. Referee Authority”- Referees have full authority to enforce rules, make calls, and issue warnings or cards as needed.
- Yellow and red cards are issued at the referee’s discretion, based on the nature and severity of the offense.
- Arguing with or disrespecting referees may result in disciplinary action, including ejection.
4. Game Format
Section titled “4. Game Format”- Team Size: 7 players per team on the field (1 Goal keeper and 6 on field players)
- Goals: 12x6 Goal nets
- Game Duration: One 15-minute game (non-stop clock, no halftime)
- Golden Goal (Elimination Rounds):
- If tied, a 5-minute golden goal period will be played
- First team to score wins
- If still tied, the game goes to a penalty shootout (Standard penalty shootout rules apply)
5. Gameplay Rules
Section titled “5. Gameplay Rules”- No Slide Tackling: Any slide tackle will result in a foul.
- No Cursing or Inappropriate Language: Toward officials, opponents, or teammates is strictly prohibited.
- Substitutions:
- Unlimited and allowed at any time
- Must be made at the center line
- The player exiting must leave the field before the substitute enters
- All substitutes must clearly show their wristbands before entering
- Mercy Rule:
- If a team leads by 9 goals, the game will be ended immediately, and the leading team will be declared the winner
7. Fouls & Disciplinary Actions
Section titled “7. Fouls & Disciplinary Actions”- Standard soccer fouls will be called and enforced by referees
- Unsportsmanlike Conduct may result in yellow or red cards, including:
- Cursing at supervisors, officials, or opponents
- Insulting supervisors, officials, or opponents
- Fighting – any physical altercation results in automatic ejection
8. Game Start Procedure
Section titled “8. Game Start Procedure”- A coin toss will be conducted by the referee before each game.
- Team captains from both teams must be present.
- The winner of the coin toss will choose whether to start with the ball or choose a side.
- The opposing team will be given the remaining option.
