Read one of four books and take a test on it. Tests are comprised of multiple choice questions to judge reading comprehension and analytical abilities.

In-Person

4 (one per book)

  1. No more than four (4) students from each team may register for each test.
  2. Each student may pick only one test to compete in.
    • Example: 4 students may register for Test 1, 4 other students for Test 2, etc.
  1. Competitors have 1 hour and 30 minutes to complete their test.

  2. Competitors must achieve a score of 65% or above in order to rank/win a medal.

  3. Test contains ONLY multiple choice and multiple-multiple choice questions (select all that apply).

    • Questions will have an analytical/thinking focus.
    • Each test has an essay tie-breaker bonus question worth 10 points.
  4. Tests are open-book and must be taken individually.

    • Electronic devices NOT permitted during competition.
    • Electronic versions of books NOT permitted.
  5. Annotations NOT permitted within the book:

    • No highlighting
    • No underlining
    • No post-its
    • No writing in margins
    • All books will be checked before exam starts
  6. Students must have their own book - sharing NOT allowed once testing begins.

  7. Printouts/photocopies of the book are permitted but must be free of any notes.

  8. All questions based on material covered in the assigned book.

  9. No ballot for this competition - scores based solely on test performance.
